The band's membership blends experience with with a desire to learn, improve and perform. Players broadly fit one of the three profiles below:
Some are current brass players, who enjoy playing without the stress of formal competition, but who are happy to use their experience to help others, often by leading sectional groups during rehearsals.
Others have played brass in the past and have wanted to pick it up again, or have played another type of instrument and have wanted to give brass a go.
And some have started as complete beginners, maybe looking for a way to take the first steps with music in an environment in which they can feel comfortable and supported as adult learners.
Many players have taken advantage of the offer of an instrument loan and small-group tuition to help get them to a level where they can join in with the rest of the band.
